Unconnect YouTube and AdSense?

My AdSense and YouTube accounts are connected but I wish to unconnect them. I've heard that there have been a ton of bans because of monetization before partnership.

I selected the option for some of my videos to be monetized but now I can't uncheck the monetization option. When I try to save my changes, it says that my changes couldn't be saved. So, I want to unconnect my AdSense and youtube accounts. My google account is currently connected to youtube, so I'm not sure if I'll be unable to connect Google Adsense.

If I need to unconnect my google and youtube accounts entirely, and if it is possible, I will go as far as that. Thanks for any help.

I know you can just remove monetisation from all your videos and disable ads completely one by one per video and then check "Do not allow advertisements to be displayed alongside my videos". Doing that and enabling within adsense.com authorisation on a per domain basis with only domains you approve of that should keep your account safe from any abuse.

I am not so sure about fully unlinking it if its the same Google account. If it was through another Google account with Adsense you can remove the Adsense association from your channel by going here:

Settings -> Overview -> Advertisements -> Mark Do not allow advertisements to be displayed alongside my videos -> Save. A few Hours later every Ad on your Channel should disappear.
