Saw in my inbox that I received a message from Fullscreen. Figured it was just another "we'd like you to join our network" kinda thing.

Turns out they said they'd like to offer me the opportunity to fully capitalize on my trending video. Just 1 video. What in the world...it's not even THAT popular, it gets about 700 views a day and it's 5 months old. I don't get it.

Anyone ever received something like this? I guess it always could be a fake account or something...

Fullscreen does try to get in on the action for a single video instead of offering partnership, but it's usually only on viral videos. Can you link the account that sent it you?

Well was the message from the fullscreen channel?

Pretty much none of my recruiting messages have been from an official channel, which I don't find odd - seeing that there are recruiters out there.

Can't post a link but the user is: FullScreenVIP

Anyone can be a recruiter though. You just recommend people for the network and you drop their name when you apply.

But this sounds a lot more complex than just recruiting to me.

It's difficult to tell, but it appears legit. Fullscreen partner managers often use accounts like these to recruit when they can't reach out via email. Be very cautious as there are a ton of fake accounts out there.
If you want to proceed, don't do it via youtube PMs. Ask for an email address. A legit FS email address will be in the format name@fullscreen.net.

Thanks. I don't think I'll be moving forward with it. Don't see much reason too since I don't see how they could help me make more money on the video - it's already had 5 months exposure and almost 200k views. I feel like I'd just be giving them a portion of revenue for nothin.

Yeah doesn't sound like to me that YOU would benefit from it. Sounds like they are just trying to get some of the pie too.

I had a channel a few years back when partnership required 100k+ subscribers and YouTube messaged me and allowed me to monetize one video that got about 200 views a day. :) I have never heard of networks doing this though.
