The ATV Trend - Bigger networks turning to s**t

I just thought I would give you a heads up on two networks which I would recommend staying away from at this current time. They are pulling ATV's like and it is a shame really, they actually were decent networks.

So if you haven't heard, around 2 hours ago, Smosh released a new video on there channel called the 'Smosh Gaming Alliance'. It is a new network they are starting up under Alloy which is basically AwesomenessTV. So I would highly recommend you stay away from this. I don't know much about Alloy, they may be good in some respects, they may be bad. This definitely though is something which is bad.

Why is it like AwesomenessTV?

- Accept anyone (so far I believe, no mention of any requirements you just have to sign up)
- 70/30 deal.
- $100 payment threshold
- A welcome kit

^ Pretty much ATV right there.

Also, in case you haven't heard. Base79 is also turning to s**t too. They too are starting up a new network which will accept anyone. It is called Orbital79. The contract they will be offering is awful. 45% and 3 year lock-in, so stay away from that too.

It seems nowadays every network is just trying to cash in on small partners and just exploit them of everything. It seems partnership isn't worth anything these days, except the money in the companies pockets. A channel is nothing to them but a object that gives them money. :shifty2:

Yea... Big networks are just trying to make a quick buck by exploiting the little guys...

What I don`t think they realize is alot of bigger channels will in turn not want to be with their network...

Exactly true, a lot of these networks are losing a lot of their reputation pulling stunts like this. That's why RPM pulled out of it, other networks will be the same. Bigger partners suffer the worst as a result of this, they deserve to be mad.

Base79`s new deal is just ridiculous... It`s like half of what even ATV offer...

Can't say I'm surprised what so ever... I saw this coming from 6 months ago when I first started looking around. It is the natural progression of no risk partnering channels + potential reward.

Here is another prediction: YouTube is going to crack down on this behavior soon. What the fallout from that might be... I have no idea. I'm looking forward to the storm.

I am too Flammy. Something needs to be done.

Yep, I`ve heard they`re bringing in a view requirement for networks, most I`ve heard from seem to think it`ll be around 150 vpd.

They aren't starting up anything I don't think and they are merely marketing the network
