Tags & Keywords

Hi everyone! Just wanting your opinion if tags are working on your channel. Many Youtubers say that tags are not important anymore and that they do work when search queries are misspelled or something like that, but for me Search queries have been my top traffic source that I got from maximizing the tags that I put for every video.

For your channel, did you maximize your tags or keywords for each video? What has been your results?
 
YT says tags are no longer really important, so I quit messing with them. Just had my default tags. My views dropped quickly. So I went back to using specific tags per video... Jimmy Kimmel may not need tags, but I think small channels need all the help we can get ha ha
 
Regardless I still fill the tags in. I'll keep doing it as long as the field is there. I use TubeBuddy which makes it a little easier but there are always more tags you need to fill by hand.

Whether they have any effect whatsoever I have no idea.
