I've Got It
We're looking to partner our channel so we can get access to things like custom thumbnails. From what I've read, we need to monetize one of our videos to become partnered, is that right?

Secondly, what video of ours can we monetize? We're a gameplay channel, but we do have two live action videos that have some Kevin MacLeod music in the background. We don't have to monetize every video I think, just one to get started.
 
I can answer your second question, most YT partnerships don't allow gameplay footage. I hear some do. The live action videos with the non copyright music are fine to monetize.

I think you have to have at least on of your videos monetized and then wait 30 days and you should unlock it. Don't trust me though, I'm just going from what I have heard from others.
 
If you connect your Youtube account to Adsense after April 2013, & you monetize one video at least, you instantly unlock those features. YUP :) Hope it helps ! ;)

Wait... do people actually believe that you need some special license to upload and Monetise Gameplay xD Misinformation at its best
