Other Shoutout small YouTubers (an idea)

(If this is in the wrong place, sorry! Wasn't too sure where it would be best).

Hi everyone, I have an idea that I'd like to share with everyone, it's an idea I've had for a while about how creators (and even viewers to an extent) could help each other to make their videos and their channels more discoverable to the wider community and potential new subscribers / collab partners. I'd be very surprised if this hasn't been done before but equally I think it's an idea worth spreading around to other people and seeing if it's something that could exist in the wider community as opposed to being a small feature on my channel only.

Ultimately my idea is to make a playlist every month and add the videos from smaller YouTubers that I've enjoyed to it. It's that simple really, I might extend this idea out to having a video at the end of the month to talk about my favourites too but this is the sort of thing I've been looking for and I've not found it so far.

Everyone's definition of a small YouTuber is different and ultimately I'm not sure it really matters to this project, just as long as everyone involved is sharing in a positive and charitable way with good intentions behind their choices.

Does anyone have any thoughts? Ultimately I'm going ahead with this even if nobody wants to join me but I think it could be fun if other people joined in too!

Mattshea started something similar to this earlier this year called his "love box" where he would feature videos that he enjoyed from smaller channels. It really did help those smaller channels grow and build a fanbase. The only problem I see with this is there's going to be tons of people asking to have their videos featured in playlists and it will become the next sub4sub. While I'm not against the idea of supporting other small channels I think you have a big enough fanbase to do something like that.

That's a cool idea :) I've seen something similar on another large channel although I'm not sure how successful it's been for the people featured. I always have respect for larger channels that help the little guys though.
I have thought about the whole sub4sub side of things, hopefully that won't be too big a problem but I can see that it could be. Thanks for your input.

No problem! One of the channels Matt featured went from 100 subs to 1000 after the video, he's now over 7,000 subs in little less than 6 months. It's crazy how one little thing can help a channel blow up pretty quick.
