Revenue Split?

TheCoalBox

I've Got It
When I signed up for fullscreen back in November, they gave me a 60/40 split. I hear people talking about how they have an 80/20 split with FS, so I feel sort of ripped off. Is this true, and if so, is it possible that I can get my split bumped up to 80/20? To be quite honest 60% of the payout for all of my work just is not cutting it...

My channel is /user/TheCoalBox

I apologize if this question has been answered.

You shouldn't sign a legal contract if you haven't researched it and are happy with the terms. Considering your revenue based on amount of views it will only make a difference of a couple of cents so I wouldn't be too concerned. There's no point signing to a network until you make more than pocket change.

I don't think you can negociate until your contract is over and they make you an offer to sign with them again for another 1/2 years. Anyway, you will not lose much because you don't got many views, so just enjoy the partner features.

BTW: is the music from your channel made entirely by you?

If you got 100% I doubt it would be enough, you'll only be earning 4/3rds of what you're getting now if you go up to 80% anyway. You're really not going to make money either way so I wouldn't worry about it and focus on making videos which is a hobby, not an income source unless you're massive

Splits are based on channel size/view counts and a few other factors. Those with an higher split usually generate more views per month and have more subscribers, which in turn generate more revenue, so the amount of money needed to service a channel becomes less (percentage wise) relative to how much revenue they generate. Which results in a lower split.

You're also getting less than 500 views per month. At your current view count per month and a 50% monetization rate, the difference between a 60/40 contract and a 80/20 contract is likely less than $1 per year.

Yes, they're all made by me ;p

Alright, I get what you mean. Recently though my channel has been in a rut and a few months ago I was getting like 5k - 7k views a day. This is what I was most worried about, and they will probably go up to that point again.[DOUBLEPOST=1372817175,1372816910][/DOUBLEPOST]

Oh and my bad, this was for my gaming channel, not my music one (derp) which is the one I'm talking about being in the rut /user/TheCoalBox

TheCoalBox you got good amount of views in gaming channel.
I think everyone is having contract of atlease 70/30 now.So maybe ask your partner manager.

People are wrong in this thread, you can't just ASK your partner manager for higher splits. They won't do it.

I'm in the same situation as you. I signed a bad 60/40 contract 4 months ago, at that time, 60/40 was a more common split for small channels before all the lowering standards and network competition that's happening today.

I have 1100 subscribers, 4k-8k views a day, I messaged my partner manager a while ago about raising splits and contract negotiations considering 70/30 is the standard in Fullscreen now and other networks offered me better splits and basically got the "we can't do that at the moment", in other words, "eff off, we don't give a s**t, you signed the contract."
No promotion, no nothing. I do 100% of the work, they get 40% of the money.
