Adsense revenue aside, is it more beneficial to make a concise video that people are willing to stick around the entire time (shorter video), or a longer video that contains more content that may be beneficial for other viewers, but will hurt the average percentage of video watched statistic.

Most of my views are from the YouTube homepage. My avg view is 3 to 5 minutes. Some of my videos are 3mins but avg maybe 10minutes each. I have some that are hour or longer. The longer videos dont get a ton of full watch but..some people seem to like it. What I have been doing is...just watch what the avg viewer may watch and try to cut my videos that long or make a muit part video. Making smaller videos and doing part one, part two ect has the pros of higher view count and being able to use more keywords. Just be careful with muti part videos as it can be really annoying for some viewers if they have to wait a long time to see the whole deal...so if you are uploading daily vs monthly.
