Referral links in the description

I thought that putting referral links in the descriptions of videos was not allowed. In the past, we could put a link to our website and then have the referral link on my website. Does anybody know what the current rules are? I was watching a Video Creators presentation and apparently, people are putting them in the description. Please let me know!

 
It's a grey area in terms of specifications, although generally all affiliate links are spam and it's not a "if" question either. You will be banned - it's "when" you will be. I'd strongly advise you not to (especially at your size, markkaz).

That's what I thought. I don't take ANY chances because I have too much to lose. Thanks!
