Hello, everyone! I got a quick question. I have a gaming channel with 2k subs and I've been wondering should I upload a 10 minute video once a week or 2 videos a week that are 5minutes each. Which of these two gives me a higher chance for me to get recognized and attract more people? Because I know that yt algorithm fancies the 10 minute videos but if I post twice a week there are more chances to get one of the videos "viral" ? What do you guys think?

What's your CTR, average view duration, audience retention % and do your videos result in more views and time visitors spend on YT? Do you make videos around trendy topics and/or those that you know will be interesting to a large portion of your target audience?
The length doesn't matter for growth as long as you can nail those things down, and nailing those things down is a challenge all of us face.

For me personally, I actually have OK lifetime CTR (~6%), average view duration is 5.5-6 minutes, each visitor converts to on average 2.2 views, so a lot of my views come from people mini-binging 2-4 of my videos in one go.

However, my audience retention is barely breaking 10% atm and I guess people just leave YT after watching my videos, so that's something I've been trying to improve lately.
I thought the primary issue was the fact I regularly make 1hr+ long videos and YT algo doesn't love me for that, but then I've had one video recently go on a mini-break out, hitting more than 4.5k views in the first 10 days as YT algorithm graced me with roughly 4x more impressions from Homepage than all my other videos usually get. I made the video around the sort-of interesting topic and it just worked for that specific video.

However, my last 2 videos won't even break a thousand views even though the topic is fresh and I know people are interested - one is still below 200 while another one has already slowed down around 600 views. There are dozens, hundreds of factors that affect your videos' performance - length is just one of those.

Keep cranking new content. I'm in a similar boat as you with 2.8k subs and ~1000 views a day. I sort-of know which video topics have a better chance of getting views and which don't, but YT algo has its own mind and I'm probably still far from figuring the perfect formula for my specific channel and the type/style of videos I make.
