As UnitedF1HD pointed out, backgrounds are soon going to change. However, your background is good but I feel its a little too dark? The lightning is too similar on either side too I think.

I like it. But, texture/pattern on "BISHOP" looks a bit weird on LCD monitors. I would smooth it out a bit or go with a different texture/pattern.
Other than that, good job!
