I am considering joining a network. I have been accepted by a network (Fullscreen). (Obviously, I am not allowed to disclose the details of the contract that is in front of me).
What I've noticed is that pretty much everyone important on YT has joined a network. This implies that they stand something to gain by joining a network. What is it that one actually gains through joining a network? If I already have monetization rights, will I likely make less money if I join a network? How much should I worry about lock-in time? (Assuming, you know, that it's reasonably long, but not absurdly long? (ugh, not being able to actually say is a pain.))
But what I really want to know is: I know what I stand to lose. I know what I'm giving up. Most of it doesn't seem that bad, but I'm not entirely sure what, exactly, I stand to gain, and, while it's clear that other people, even people who are reasonably successful, believe they stand to gain something through joining a network, I'd like to make sure I'm doing this actually knowing what I can get out of it, not just because everyone else is jumping off bridges, as my parents might have told me to avoid doing things as a child.
