Question about revenue split.

I just read that Google gives 68% of the revenues to publishers from content ads

And when you partner with a network they split the revenue as well. What I would like to know is whether the networks get 100% of the ad revenues before they split them with us or they split what google gives them (namely 68% percent).

If the former option is true then I would get more revenue if I partner with a network that takes only 30% of my revenue right? Because Google is taking more than that.

And finally, what do you guys think about 60/40 split? Is it bad or?

Can someone please clearify these for me?

Adsense is a 60/40 split

Networks such as BBTV,Iricom and QuizGroup ( + sub-networks) will give you a 50/50 - 80/2o net split after YouTube takes 25%

Premium Networks (Invested in by Google + Significant Income and growth) such as Fullscren, BigFrame, BentPixels and Maker ( + sub-networks) will give you a net split or gross split usually between 60/40 and 90/10 net and gross depends on the network after YouTube takes 20%...

I have no official source for this, but common sense tells me that the networks can't get the 100 %. Why would Google give everything away? ;-)

The 68% is for website, not for youtube. When we were youtube partners and asked at the partner meetup, they said it was a 50/50 split. I'm not sure if that's changed at all.

When you sign with a network, what happens is they use their own adsense account to put ads on your channel. When they manage a huge group of channels, they have more views overall, so they get paid a better advertising rate than a single channel would on its own. They still have to share the money with google just like you would as if you on your own. They may get a slightly better rate, but don't expect it to vary more than a few percentage points. The idea is that you might be able to make more money with a network because of the higher ad rate-but they ask for percentage of your earnings in return. The percentage is takes to break even over a standard youtube partnership (your own adsense account) is different for everyone. There's some people on this forum that say at 70/30 they are making the same amount or more money than they were before. In our case, it looks like that percentage has to be at least 90/10 to break even based on the data we've received so far.

If you can PM me, I can probably figure out what split you would need from a network to break even and what would put you ahead.

60/40 is not very good. That seems to be the standard rate for smaller channels. You should be getting offered 70/30 or tiny bit higher based on your 30 day average.

Just as a response to this most Premium networks are 70/30 are higher excluding RPM and Paramaker , With networks like Maker or TGS where it gets higher by 5% every year you stay with them : 3 years 70% - 80% (stops at 80%)

Networks like Fullscreen/Yeousch give 80/20 splits to big Partners.

BentPixels and BigFrame have 80/20 splits in all their networks!
