Question about "owning everything"...

Hi, I'm new as you can tell. :)

New here, and new to the whole video uploading/partner ship thing, I had a question though, and I wasn't really sure WHERE to put it. So I just went with this category.

Anyways, I know part of the rules and guidelines, are that you must own all music, etc. so my question is, if your using a video "intro designer" (like I'm using "Intro Designer" for the iPhone), are you able to legally use those intro templates??? As well as the intro "songs" they contain?

I would think they KNOW people are gonna use it to make intros for their YouTube videos, but I was just wondering if it was/is supposed to be strictly just for personal use. Or if you can actually use that on YouTube.

It the description of the app, it says, that you can upload to Facebook, and YouTube. But once again, if you plan on making revenue, does that change whether or not you can use it?

(And I guess this is a general question not just for "iPhone/Intro Designer" users, but people that use an intro designer in general).

P.s, sorry for rambling on haha, I just wanted to explain it as detailed and clearly as possible, I appreciate any and all help! :)

you should probably leave an app review asking about it. you're suppose to own all the content on your channle nonmatter if you monetise or not. so if they let unpartnered ppl do it, chances are they will let partnered people use it too.

Using anything for revenue gain usually changes whether you can or can't use it. Unless it specifically states it is royalty-free or can be monetized, then the best thing would be not to use it.
It's somewhat depressing, but most of these template things do not share them with monetization in mind and are for personal use only.

any songs must be royalty free :) or you must on the rights to them
You can use up to 3 seconds of a song and it will clarify as fair use.

Ultimatekirbyboi: Good idea, thanks! Hmm...I thought its only a problem if you plan on making money though. So, like, they would allow a non-profit channel use it because they aren't partners, and don't plan to make revenue from it.

Jazzy: Thanks!:) So, you would suggest just not using the app period (if I plan to monetize my videos) right? That's really weird that they wouldn't specify it (the app developer), especially being in today's day and age, where so many people post videos directly from their phone/plan to become partners!

Shane: Oh thanks! The 3 seconds thing is a small ( but good) bit of information I didn't know!
