Private 3rd party fundraising - any success? Need a lifeline

HI EVERYBODY!

I was curious if anyone has experience with a third party like patreon or tube start to raise money.

In short, I need upwards of $700 for a camera (Sony rx100 mkii) and want to crowd source it.

I have
- 2500 subs
- growth by 100/week
- niche is self improvement and fitness/bodybuilding

I was thinking of doing a video on my current gear then introducing my campaign.

Will I crash and burn?
My patreon is a joke. One person for $1/month

Any ideas would be awesome.
 
Eh, I mean it could work... but I honestly don't like when people do this sort of thing. If you want a new camera, you should have to buy it. Not other people....

So, I'm honestly just asking... Not challenging you.

Why do these third party funding sites stay around if this is a bad idea?
 
You really do not have the audience for one.

not for that amount anyway
