Preventing Fraudulent Clicks?

Hey everyone,

I'm worried that sharing my videos on Facebook will lead to having my friends "helping" me by clicking my ads and generating fraudulent activity.

I'm with Adsense so i hear they're pretty ban trigger-happy.

I don't think that telling people on FB NOT to click my ads will be fool-proof enough to prevent this scenario...

What are your thoughts about sharing your videos with friends?

Thanks
Chris

Possibly to send PMs to close friends that wont click on them. Or maybe even not share if on Facebook if you're that worried. :)

Hey FibulaSpry, unfortunately that doesnt stop your friends from going into your video and clicking the ad on YouTube itself. If they're thinking that they're "helping" you out, i can see them doing that.

Hey Dmantuts, yeah that's why i haven't shared my videos on FB yet..

I thought Youtube change their policy, fraud ad clicks are not the channel owner's fault anymore. I mean it's not fair, what if someone hates you, and tries to take your channel down by clicking in your ads?

Yeah, I had a friend that clicked my ads like crazy a while back, but the earnings from the clicks was not included in the finalized earnings, so I don't know if they changed their policy ;) Would make sense though ;)

It's your responsibility as a website owner (obviously doesn't apply in this case) and an AdSense user to prevent any fraudulent activity. What they do is completely right in my book as the advertisers are paying their money to advertise and they pay even when your ads are being used for invalid activity.. for nothing basically as they aren't genuinely interested in the advert.

@OP monitor your AdSense account often, this should be general practice for all AdSense users to easily prevent any bad activity and if you see a sharp rise in CTR etc you should disable your ads temporarily.
