So if and when I partner with someone or something will there be a tab I have to click on my dashboard or how will I know I am partnered?

The Dashboard won't be on YouTube itself, there will be a Dashboard within the network's website you'll have access to (that's how RPM work anyway, you get access to Maker Studios Dashboard, which shows earnings and stats and whatnot). Your analytics on YouTube will look the same as always.

Gotcha so they will send an email when we are partnered and how to access all that..

I was just wondering if when I went to YouTube or my channel would anything show up showing that I was partnered in anyway.

Yep when they send you a linking e-mail there'll be a few steps you have to take (quite easy, they explain it in their email), and then when you log into your Youtube dashboard, an option will pop up to link them. It's quite quick once it's all over with!

You will receive an email in the email account you used to create your channel (Gmail) titled "YouTube Video Claiming Confirmation"

Click the confirmation link in the email, a pop up window will open letting you know "Your channel *channel* has been linked to the *network* CMS Account for Claiming Videos"

Then, all features and such will be added to your channel including thumbnails, livestreaming and such.
 
Nothing on YouTube at all really.
I log into Google Adsense (Im partnered with YouTube direct) to see all my earnings and other such data.

That's only if you never enabled monetization which isn't often you'll get 'YouTube Video Claiming Confirmation' :) Unless you had to go thru the hassle of terminating it.
