I've Got It
*I apologize in advance for writing so much. I just like giving FULL thoughts on things vs vague descriptions.
I mean for this topic to be different from the standard... Basically, most people ask "what is the best network" in terms of money, cpm, % split, best for gaming, etc. I'm wondering more about growth and from a strategic standpoint...
Naturally you would think of partnering with a network of your specialty. I for one was thinking of N4Gtv.. but looking them up they don't seem very noticed or have many people (from what I could tell). They might be informative for how to run a gaming channel and be able to monetize and more focused.
However, Applying for RPM (via Socialblade) or say Creator X (Fullscreen) both seem to have better communities. Even though they don't cater to a specific genre, it seems like you would be able to grow better with them. RPM (via Socialblade) seems to be big because they were the first to really lower the standards and accept more people. Creator X (Fullscreen) is very similar now.
Here's where the second part comes in. With such a big community for both it almost seems like you could get swallowed up and lost in the amounts of people.
I know usually the consensus is "Networks are for enabling features/monetizing and helping you manage your channel, not to help growth", but it would make sense to have a community in the network that would definitely aid in growing. I could be completely wrong and there is no community aspect in most Networks and that's why everyone enjoys yttalk so much (for the community aspect)
Now for the big question.. Throwing CPM and %'s out the window and not caring about money, but growth instead... Would it be better to go with a genre focused Network? or try the bigger/better known community?
Alternatively, If the only resource for growth is yourself then it wouldn't matter what network you went with because what you make will reflect your own effort.
Thoughts?
**For extra information I do have a gaming channel if you would like to base some thoughts around that. I thought it would be nice to generalize the topic though.
I want to partner with a network for a year contract to get the feel of it while I plan on growing (one way or another) during that time period so when I am more ready for the "serious" network I can have a feel for how a network works.
