I Love YTtalk
We are pleased to announce a new feature here at the forums. YTT Assistants!

What is a YTtalk Assistant?

The Assistants are members of staff who have the ability to move threads if posted in the wrong forum, and merge multiple threads about the same topic. These are two of our most common reported issues, this will help us out greatly and increase the whole teams efficiency.

They help out regularly within the Site Support and Suggestions forum helping out with site related queries, helping and directing them to the answer. In addition to this they help to create a welcoming atmosphere by regularly welcoming newcomers to the forum and helping them with any site queries.

So are they Moderators?

No. Assistants can only move threads to the correct forums, and merge threads together. They cannot lock or delete threads, and they cannot warn or ban members. Any issues with members or the forum in general must be reported to a moderator or admin.

Can I Be an Assistant?

If you have an interest, then send Michael a PM and let him know, or leave a reply and you will be added to an interested list. We aren't actively recruiting (like we don't have X amount of slots to fill or anything), but if we feel someone is suitable we will approach them about it. There are no strict requirements for these things, but we expect any staff to have a good reputation on the forum, decent amount of activity and little or no warnings.

Our first assistant is.... *drum roll* @KatherineJane001! Congrats :D

Updated by Michael: We would also like to welcome JohnKenShow to the team!
*rolls in* Ooooh Michael you be hustlin' in on mah thread, boi? :p *rolls out*
*I always be hustlin' threads ;) *

Updated by Michael: In addition we would also like to welcome Gabriel to our team!

If you have any questions about this new feature let me know below.

How are these features added? Is it you or Michael?

You mean like the permissions for the users? That'd be Michael, he deals with any and all 'physical' aspects of the forum.
I am asking these features like YtTalk assistant
It does require one to do coding or is it something like inbuilt feature in the script of this forum?

I don't know specifically. I know that the forum is a mixture of those things. Much of the code was written by Michael and a friend he has who helps him with some things.

When one of the staff whether thats myself or one of the Moderators has a new idea we tend to discuss it as a group first although there will be small changes/updates where we dont and I go ahead with those things, if we all agree it is a good idea we start planning it etc. With this it was a group decision to go forth with it as we all agree that it will be beneficial for everyone and help keep the site as clean and organised as possible.

User groups are built into most if not all forum softwares, you set them the way you like and use them as you like to fit your needs.

DAGNABBIT our plan faaaaailed! :p :giggle:

I dun' seen right through ye!
