New to monetizing, some newbie questions

I've Got It
I'm sorry if you've already heard these questions a hundred times but: I've joined YTtalk a couple of days ago and started reading about networks like AdRev, AwesomenessTV, Fullscreen, RPM... I just have AdSense ads on my video (I've only got one up at the moment). Is it recommended to choose a network? Do I get extra revenue or do I have to disconnect my Youtube account from my AdSense account?

Some other questions:
- Do I have to wait until I get more views/have more videos? (probably yes, but when's the right time, then?)
- What's the best network for musicians?
- Can I still upload song covers (without monetizing them) without getting a strike?
- If I add a second Youtube channel, can I connect that one to my AdSense account too?

Thanks in advance! I'm sorry if these questions have been answered before...

When you have a network, you'll be splitting your revenue that you've spitted with youtube, so that means with youtube it's 50-50, when you join a network, it will be like 50-50 with youtube and 70/30, 60/40 or worst 50-50 to your network. both have pros and cons.

-I've been invited by youtube to monetized one of my videos when it's getting 1k views, but you can probably monetize it since I can monetize my video with 26 views.
-Vevo? I guess? Don't really know. hehe
- It depends if it's under CC, some CC allows you to use it commercially some are not.
- Idk, I'm just starting my channel(the dedicated one), no videos yet, but soon will be flooded by videos :D

how do you monetize your videos? sorry im new to the whole youtube thing >.<

If you just get less revenue, why would you join a network in the first place? :/

And justin1992, I think Youtube automatically asks you to monetize your video when you upload one

You disconnect your Adsense account from your channel and you're absorbed into the network.

1) It's not worth joining a network when you're that small. You'll most likely make even less than what little you already make through Adsense.
3) You probably won't get a strike, but you'll most likely get some Content ID matches whether or not you monetize them. It becomes harder for you to monetize videos or join a network if you have a lot of Content ID matches. There are legal ways to license your covers so that you can upload, monetize, and even sell your covers. This is usually through a third party. You just pay royalties for any money you make. I'm not sure of the specifics, but do some research on mechanical and synchronization licenses. Also try to look for some successful cover artists on YouTube and try to contact them and ask them how they do it.
4) Yes.
