First of, hi! I'm new to the forums. Been lurking for a while.
So, I started my game channel in Feb, and of course I at once realised I was getting hit by Content ID claims all over the place. (Mostly for tracks of music in games that play in the background, you know?)
Anyway, as luck would have it, I got a random message from Machinima - from what I assume was just another member who was doing some sorta referral scheme by trying to get as many people to sign up as possible. Either way, I did a little reading (but not as much as I really should have!) and then decided to go for it.
This was back in July; I filled in the form and waited for around two weeks. Turns out they accepted me, and I had to sign some contracts, yada yada. But I've not heard anything since. I received confirmation that all parties had signed the contract, but that was on the 9th of July and I've heard nothing since. So I have two questions:
1) What should I expect to happen next? Are they going to e-mail me something that I need to fill out/confirm to get my channel "linked" with the network so to speak? Is it normal that I've heard nothing about this in almost 6 weeks?
2) Once this is all confirmed etc, what changes should I expect to see on my channel? For example, am I still going to be hit by Content ID claims constantly? Will my videos be monetised automatically (or will I have a choice of which I can monetise etc?) And... well, just anything I can expect really.
This is, I suppose, specific to Machinima, but I'm curious to hear other's accounts of what happened. Thanks!
