"NetworkOfOne" - What is it?

This company, Network of One, has been spamming me all day, literally 5 emails so far today and 1 yesterday. 1 tweet too. All from different emails / "people" too.

As far as I can see they are a video licensor just like jukin media, rumble, viral spiral etc
Every single email was the exact same saying they wanted "to license a video" but did not mention which video or for what benefit nor for what price..

Looking at their website it seems to be run by the ex-founders of Machinima and claim to be run from LA even though every email I got was from someone with an Asian name. (They seem to have 50+ people on twitter spamming the same tweet every couple of minutes to different creators)

Has anyone else been contacted by these guys and/or followed up and got anymore information?
Because off of their behaviour alone it seems really spam-y and like a potential scam..

Yeah, they're sketchy. I have noticed this company placing false Content ID claims on popular videos that they have no rights over. They use the RoundUp_Media and Network of One CMS accounts.

You probably have updated information by now but I will respond.

They sent an offer to buy five of my top videos. The video still resides on my channel but since they technically own the video, they get to monetize it. They get the ad earnings.

Here's the rub. They are only offering what the video would earn in the next four months. They pay that amount now. After that, they get the rest of the earnings for perpetuity.

What a terrible deal and I told them so!

They said that I could use the money now to upgrade equipment or whatever I needed. Sure, they will find some fools (they already have). With them being formerly with Machinima, I'm not surprised.

What I assume is that I sell the rights to the video and that's how they "claim" it on my channel. The devious side betrayal that creators don't realize is that they now own the video! They can license it to TV or even upload it onto other video hosting websites.

According to their reps no, you are not selling the rights to the video content, just the rights for them to place an ad on it. If anyone is interested in finding out more, why not see if they would send you a contract? I was approached by them as well but the offer was not high enough.

Someone needs to make a video about them and let the community know ASAP! They have offered me $#,### for one of my viral videos. Is it even in adsense terms that you can sell your magnetization rights over to a third-party. Is that basically like almost selling your youtube channel? They are hitting me everywhere with e-mails and followups and i never ever responded. Isn't this against youtube's TOS? You sell a comp rights to have A third-party running ads on youtube youtube videos? Anyone?

It's not against YouTube Tos,they will claim the video(s) using Content ID and just take the revenues from those video(s).

I have heard of them offering 4-5 figures for a few videos so they seem to have alot of financial backing anyway.
Just read their contract very carefully would be my warning! The whole thing to me seems very dodgy, they're obviously using some sort of spambot on Twitter & Email that creates accounts and sends messages automatically because I've gotten a fair amount of tweets & emails, always from different "people"/accounts.

It's a good deal since the video viral already made it's views and is slow now. But I won't take the bait. Having a comp like that hanging over me would not feel good. The really thing is the 1 of the network account's message to me is public for al the offers on that bot/persons google plus page. It seems shady. Thanks for the reply!

YES these guys have been spamming me lately too. I don't want a y companies to have anything to do with my channel, just prefer to have no strings attached.

They offered me $500 for 20+ of my top videos. Considering I have like 50 uploads that'd basically be half my entire channel. Lolnope. If they had a high monthly deal, or if it were set up like a sponsor where it's pay x amount to advertise a product for x amount of time, I'd find them more appealing. Not a fan of the give up the earnings of your videos permanently for the rest of your channel's lifetime thing-especially with the potential for any of the uploads to earn more than offered in the long run.
