I used to use a Turtle Beach headset, they are made for gaming online for like xbox and ps3... but can be used for computer as well... I'd recommend downloading audacity, you can usually minimize the background noise through that with combination of a quiet mic from turtle beach XD

I saw one at walmart here for about 45 dollars... and thats one of the mid models

cool is audacity a edit software because i already use final cut pro x

Sorta...more for your voice then a video...ok only for voice or audio... it has some nice effects that you can do and I believe, don't quote me on this one...but I believe it has a filter for background noise so you can reduce the amount of it.... I am not sure on that option because soon after my TB headset got attacked by a cat... I stopped using the software because my webcam has a mic built in...cost me 30 dollars for the webcam and it does HD videos

I just use a Microsoft Headset about about $20-45 depending on where you buy it.
Think I've seen some on amazon in the high $20 zone or low $30 zone.
If im doing a live commentary I just record in fraps if it's a post commentary I record in audacity (free program)

Audacity, as Valtharus said, is really good for getting rid of background noise. If you plan on using that feature, leave 5 seconds at the beginning of silence before you start what you're actually trying to record. It takes that noise, kind of a static like thing, and reduces that throughout the actual audio in your video.
