monetization/partnership...im confused

if i get partnered with someone do i have take the monetization off my videos or what i never understood the concepts of partnerships and then i here how some people get paid from veiws and others get paid from ads that people click on is it like a monthly or weekly thing?...help!!!
 
Everyone gets paid for the same thing. No one is paid for views, because views don't make money. At one point, networks often had a "fixed CPM" allowing you to be paid from views not ads, but this is rare now. You get paid for every ad displayed on your channel. It is basically the same thing as monetization but with some benefits (different for every network). You get paid on a monthly basis. Most networks have a payment threshold. This means you have to get past $50 or $100 before getting paid depending on the network. Directly with YouTube, this is a $100 threshold.
