Monetising a music parody on YouTube

Hi guys.
I just want to ask if it's possible to monetise a music parody on YouTube video.
The parody will be of Avicii's song Wake me up, owned by record labels: PRMD and Universal Island.
100% of the lyrics have been changed, the background music have been composed and the visuals will be animated.

Is it possible?

You redid the background music? It is your recording? In that case, I think it is okay to monetize it. If you want another step of safety that you didn't mention, is the 'parody' making fun of the original song in any way. If so, you are about as protected by free use as you can get. If not, you're still far better off than most people who use the original background music, or worse, did a 'video parody' and kept the original song!

Since nobody has mentioned it thus far, parody, while it does sometimes fall under fair use doesn't necessarily mean that you're free from paying royalties to the original artist.

No one on this forum is knowledgeable enough to determine for sure if your project will fall under fair use. Only an IP lawyer can do that.

Thanks guys for your insights! Would getting a lawyer specialising in the area of intellectual property the best or should I get another specialising in a different area?
