JD´s World: Vlog 11 Is Up! \o/

JD´s World

I Love YTtalk
The newest Vlog is up. It´s sort of a response to another video but yet it has a Vlog element to it, hope you guys don´t mind the one take method I took ;)
This is vlog 1 out of 7 for Vlog Week.

Looks good, but I will have to watch it when I get back to the UK (the wifi isn't great here in France...)

You know I didn't post my video in these forums out of respect to everyone here...it's obvious you don't have any.

As you say in your video, public videos are just that...public. Don´t feel ashamed to post your creation on this forum. You did not bad mouth anyone on YTtalk (except me)

I posted my video here because it´s a Vlog with a rant in it. Do I stop posting my promotion threads just because they contain "sensitive" material? Hell no! It´s a new world we are living in, everything is up for grabs!

I consider this matter solved from my side of the fence. If you want another go please post another video with real evidence, not just what you think is true. Do research like I have, there are two threads on this forum that have sufficient research behind them about botting so you can make an educated allegation on the matter... If you would like to discuss this further either take it up publicly in a video or private message me on YTtalk or Skype at: jonathan.drake.mds

On Topic: What do you guys think of the video? It seems a bit dark to me light wise, are the sound levels ok? Feedback is fully appreciated!

Jonathan

I feel like the lighting in the YTtalk Promotional video was good, your last two ones seemed a bit dim.

Yes, I agree. I was using a 350w industrial light that I made shine onto a white wall and used the reflecting light as a source for a better lighting scheme. But for everyday Vlogs it´s a big too much unless I always do my Vlogs sitting down or in one place. That could be a thing I do, I don´t know... I just find it difficult to Vlog on the move when there is nothing happening at all and all I do is try to be comedic. I hope it´s working to my advantage the so called "charm" I have or else you guys would just click away lol

I am contemplating getting 2 light sources (professional ones) on the 1st of april (or the 2nd)... I need to have softer light so I can skip using the industrial light which is just way too bright and hot as hell.
I am re-arranging the "filming set" I have so it will look even more "professional". I really, REALLY need to do that musical cover, I´ve been saying I´d do it for more than 2 weeks lol

Day 2 of Vlog week tomorrow... It´s weird to do daily Vlogs, I am definitely not used to recording everyday. It´s nice and all but the editing process can be quite large because I am cutting SO MUCH away... For every 1 minute you see I have probably gone through 20 minutes of random stuff that I really want to share with you guys and gals but can´t since I need to "space out" what I say and do, I hope that makes sense lol

Thanks for the feedback Stefan! I appreciate it!

Not to hijack your thread but, since we're talking about lighting, do you think regular Daylight Fluorescent bulbs would be good for video lighting. Until I get a new camera I don't want to splurge on lighting but the regular bulbs I'm using are too 'yellow' and not very natural. What would you suggest?

If you can get daylight Fluorescent lights that can work out for sure. But the real question is "Do you have manual white balance control" ? What camera do you use? can you link a review? If I know what camera you use I can more help you out regarding anything. Sometimes there are hidden features that make some scenarios such as lighting no problem at all!

I'm using a Song DSC-W290, and I don't bellieve it has manual white balance control but I can take a second look tomorrow.

*Edit: Most of the features are 'Auto' which I'm not really surprised about. Like I said, I'm exchanging my DSLR soonish (hopefully) but until then would that type of lighting do? The color correcting feature in Sony Vegas
