Quick info about me:
  • I'm currently an AdSense partner.
  • Gaming channel
  • No copyright strikes or other issue
Longer info about me:
I started making videos only a few months ago, and got lucky. Or found an amazing niche and nailed it, as a of mine friend says. I don't have any illusions about networks. I don't expect to be promoted to any significant degree. I don't need my hand held. Things like access to artists, contacts with people to coop with, etc are fine, but they aren't anything I can't do on my own. I don't see most of the major features of partnering to be really worth it (streaming, shows, banners(well, I guess their dead in the new layout), etc) which basically leaves the two big ones: copyright protection and money.

Feel free to share your experiences with any network(s).

Information I'm interested in:
  • CPM rates for November, December, January (If you're an individual, you don't have to share this, if you're a network, aggregate numbers)
  • Payment/deposit method?
  • How quickly do payments get made after end of month?
  • What sort of revenue-related statistics are shared? How frequently?
  • Revenue split? Minimums/Maximums?
  • Contract length
  • Other contract options
  • Possibilities for offers/advancement if my channel continues to grow
  • In what way you're associated with the network in question
If you are an individual and sharing your experiences, please also include:
  • Why did you choose this network?
  • Do you regret the decision to join this network?
  • What do you wish you knew before joining?
  • Have you had any copyright issues? How did your network handle them?
Want to share but don't feel comfortable posting given information? PM me on here or on Reddit (Flammy) and I'll anonymously include your info if you want.

well first off all welcome to the forum and hope you enjoy it and if you reache 1 mil views a Month the AWSOME FOR YOu xD
Thanks. Definitely did not expect to be here right now...

As I'm sure a few people will want to know, I guess I'll take the #3 comment spot and share this 'road to success' as I'm sure people are wondering. I don't have any secret sauce to share, sorry.

  1. Find the right mix between low competition and volume of search traffic. My niche was low search traffic when I started, but the competition was also low.
  2. Post quality content regularly. If it takes you 1 week to make an animation or montage, then fine, post weekly or every two weeks. For me, I try to post strategy-focused content daily. I've lost a lot of sleep in the past few months.
  3. If its not working, go back to step one... you can't make everything work.

Can you elaborate more on what's the right mix of Low competition and volume of search topic?

this might sounde like an weird question but woulde u mind sharing my channel(Pokebrocast) at your channel :) i only have 133 views and you 2 million :)

Sure.

In my low competition environment, when I started there was less than 5,000 videos on YouTube for me game. Today (~3 months later) there are 111,000 videos on youtube for my game. (This is displayed next to the search results on the top right)

Now, the advantage of this was that within a week of posting I had a video on the first page of the search results. The bad news is your success is absolutely tied to your niche - As it succeeds, you succeed. As it fails, you fail. The only consolation prize is that any subscribers you gain before it fails are yours to keep.

Part of my strategy was to make myself a promoter of the game. I am an admin on the official wiki. I founded the subreddit for the game. I write strategy guides (actually why I started making videos in the first place). I have 100's of posts on the official forums. I lead an in game clan system of ~1250 people. Most of these are not related to your growth. Or more, your growth helps them more than it helps you. I drove traffic to my subreddit. That traffic turned into in game clan members. Do I gain anything for running that? No, they were already fans when they followed the links on my channel. BUT it does build community around the game, and helps it succeed. There is value name recognition. I'm living and breathing it.

Sorry, no. I get enough requests from people trying to make it in my niche already :/ Best of luck.
