Is It Worth It?

So I've been getting that little blue box that wants us to partner up with YouTube lately..

Should I do it? What are the perks? Downfalls? Restrictions? Tell me everything you know about your experience with it. Does it actually help boost a loyal audience? Will it assist us in growing our channel and being more viewed?

Let me know in great detail why or why we shouldn't sign up!

Thank you :alien2:

Partner with youtube?
NOOOO, partner with a network and don't fall into googles trap, just look it up on youtube and enjoy all the people screaming over the internet "Nooo!"

If you're a gamer, it behooves you to join a network for the gaming licenses. But what's all this I hear about Google being a trap? I'd be interested to know what your case is against monetization outside of a network?

Exactly, gamers should aim high for a network like Machinima, TGN, Yeousch, etc so they'll keep motivated as well as have a great result by the end, as well as other obvious benefits from being in a large known network, so I suggest you ignore what google/youtube is offering, pick a network as a goal and go straight for it :)

Being partnered with Youtube will make your videos show up higher in the search results, and would show on the recommended videos bar more often, which might give you more viewers. But you might get click-bombed and your Adsense will be disabled, making it impossible for you to get into a network after.

You should sign-up for Adsense, but do not enable monetization on your videos. Then you get the benefit of higher search rankings, and no risk of account banning. :)

Pray tell though, what are these "obvious benefits"?

There's no way YouTube itself is offering you Partnership since anyone who Monetizes a video successfully is considered a YouTube Partner.
Plus I just took a look at the Channel you have linked, it has 11 Subs and your most viewed video has 130+ views, there is NO WAY YouTube would extend any Full-On YT Partnership to such a small and new channel.
Even most Networks like Yeousch, Machinima, etc wouldn't give you partnership.
You need to pull in higher daily views, more interaction from your videos, etc.

Well, advertising options you have as a partner like banner, thumbnails, etc as well as say, being with a bigger network like Machinima for an example you get: rights to a number of music artists, licenses to upload gameplay content and earn money from it, they can offer you sponsorships, into the directorship program to reach out to more people and show what you can offer on your own channel. The list goes on, you'll just need to do a little research for yourself since alot of networks offer different things so pick which is best for your and your type of content on your channel.

That's correct, daily views these days need to be at about 400 for machinima and I believe 500 (may be wrong) for TGN.
