I was experimenting with the best method of doing that. I eventually took the preamp output of my amp into the line-in of my PC. I used that to mix down against the original jam track then combined that audio with the original video.

It was a bit fiddly, and I need to work on a better way of managing the A/V sync, but the approach seemed to work.

I know what you. Capturin equipment is always a pain. I today decided to record a song, and I went through 3 guitars already and 3 mics, and only now found the best combination.
