I think I finally understand.

I Love YTtalk
I've looked into this for a long time, and I'm with Fullscreen, now I finally know what my total split is (I think)

Let me explain with imaginary numbers, and tell me if I'm wrong. But if my finalized earnings on my Analytics page, is 100 dollars (for example)

And my Net revenue is then 80 dollars (for example)
And what I get from the Net revenue is 70 dollars (you catch the trend)

The way I understand it is, that the gross revenue 200 dollars, was then split 50/50 between Youtube and my network, then they did the gross split where the network got 20% and the rest went to NET, then my network got 10% of that, and I stand with 70%.

So in reality thats a 70/30 split, not a 90/10 split. Theese aren't my numbers, they're figures I made up for the purpose of the thread. But if I understand correctly, that's all there is too it right?

First of all what are you doing in the monetization forum if you don't care about revenue!?
Second of all yeah of course I care, let me quote Heath Ledger on this one "If you're good at something, never do it for free"

i'm a little confused, i dint know youtube took any money from what you earn? can you break all that down any more?

to what the other guy said, everyone who complains like its not about the money, well it kinda is, if you wernt botherd you wouldnt monetize any vids, plus i like it, its like setting minnie goals to try and get that extra few monies a day:]

Basically Youtube needs money to run servers which has to hold billions of videos and they want to go with profit. Of course they take money from all the advertisements!

Not to mention Google owns Youtube, and Google is ALL about the money.

That's just your opinion loads of people are motivated at least a bit by money so like to understand the %'s behind what they are getting.[DOUBLEPOST=1365256257,1365256000][/DOUBLEPOST]

Your Gross revenue is what you will be earning % wise from the total revenue, net is after things like staff payments etc. The % that is spent on things like that varies from network to network which is why its always best to deal in gross % amounts. If you are getting 70% Gross that means that out of the 55% that you take of your total earnings you will then keep 70% of it.

E.G if your gross revenue was 1000$ adsense would take the first bite leaving you with 550$, your network would then take 30% of this leaving you with $385. This is an example of what you would be taking home if you were earning 70% gross with a network.

Google is into money just like any company :p But I don't see them being more money desiring compared to others. They made like what? 5 April's Fools jokes? That must have costed some considering the video quality on the videos and the live stream they had and more. There's definately more money hungry companies out there... And hey as long as they keep holding Youtube up and invent Google Glass and stuff like that I am satisfied ^^

I think you're incorrect, you see gross is before Youtube takes their part of the money, estimated finalized earnings is after (this is why it's almost always around half)
