How to transition channel focus?

I have made tutorials and gameplay on a specific game for the past 8 months or so, but I have gotten a bit bored of it over time. Additionally, the game isn't a huge playerbase and can only net an average of a couple thousand views for certain videos, and I feel like I want to transition to a different game like minecraft and such. However, I don't know how to successfully go through with this without losing all of my subscribers and views.

If anyone has any tips, please help me out. Thanks.

Be upfront with your audience, try to paint a picture of how this change is still connected to the theme and style of content you've been created.

For example, if you are a tech channel that wants to start covering cars, you could say you are definitely going to focus on the tech in the cars.
Or if you are a video game channel that wants to switch gear to board games, well you can still make a link between how they are still games

You didn't mention the game you are hoping to switch to, but I'm sure there some link you can paint

I follow a YouTuber, currently called 'Midway To Mainstreet'. He has changed a couple time and been very successful with his changes. What he did was start adding a some newer content, and see what the reception was.

When I first started watching his vids he was a Disney vlogger, with an ill-fitting name "Rob Plays".

He used to be "Rob Plays". A gaming channel, mostly Minecraft. He started showing some Disney inspired Minecraft areas and they were popular. So he transitioned into more Disney content. ('you like Dinsey Minecraft, here is some of the real park' kind of stuff) The new content proved to be more popular than the gaming vids. He slowly transitioned into just Disney content. Mostly park history. Later, he wanted to go into more history of all parks, boardwalks, traveling shows etc.

So, he did a few vids of the new content, and it caught on. He recently changed the channel name. He is still popular, and still growing. Doing completely different content, he probably lost some of his earlier subscribers, but more than made up for it with new ones.

He was open about what he was doing, and did it in small, well discussed, steps.
