I Love YTtalk
For those of you who have tried sharing to popular sites without success, this may be good info.... I learned something myself on my own through experimentation....
I just saw a spike in my analytics from the other day and it was from Viral Nova. I went onto their site and I found that they accepted my video I sent them about a week ago! I have submitted things to them before, but with this latest submission I decided to make my email message better than usual and it seems to have worked! It hasn't exactly went viral, but it does have potential to be seen by a lot of people when this happens. Here is how I worded my message this time instead of saying something like "check this out!" or "Awesome dog video!"
Subject:
Ultimate Dog Video Selfie
(Interesting subject catches the eye, causing them to click open and read the message. Bait taken)
Message: "Tired of the usual duck face selfies of people in the bathroom? Well here's a whole new level of selfie, it's a video selfie of Lola the German Shorthaired Pointer. A GoPro was attached to her rawhide and then she played chase around the house. The selfie game has been brought to a whole new level!"
(Funny description that is short and straight to the point doesn't bore the reader. Reeling the reader in)
I'm sure a lot of videos are never even viewed because of the lack of a catchy subject or message, but once you lure them in, the last thing you need is to have them click on your link and like the video and boom, they may create an article and post to their site!
The way created this email is more like the way the article titles on Buzzfeed and other popular sites read. I've sent other videos with boring descriptions and go figure, they never got posted. I think it is all in the presentation because I'm sure they get thousands of emails a day. Keep this in mind when submitting to popular sites, you have about 15 seconds to capture the interest of the person viewing all of these emails so make it good! I hope this helps, let me know if you find success with this strategy. And like I always say, EXPERIMENT!
