Last few weeks I made a music compilation video (Gwiyomi) and it hits nearly 2m views now. However, the video was being false Content ID claimed by a company called "Starmedia Distribution Sdn Bhd". I already disputed it a week ago using "The Content is in the public domain or is not eligible for copyright protection." but there is no response from YouTube yet. Is it the right option to dispute a false Content ID claim or I should use "My use of the content meets the legal requirements for fair use or fair dealing under applicable laws."? (I need more advice on "reasons for dispute" too since I am quite new to YouTube)
For your information, Gwiyomi (by Hari, from South Korea) was a fan made music (not copyrighted under any company) but "Starmedia Distribution Sdn Bhd" made the false copyright claim using their homemade Gwiyomi parody video that uploaded to YouTube and monetize all other Gwiyomi videos on YouTube. (I have already checked their company background and confirmed that they do not have copyright for Gwiyomi song)
And here are my questions:
1) Which option should I use to dispute false Content ID claim? (as mentioned in 1st paragraph)
2) If YouTube accept my dispute, will YouTube recover me all the earnings from the false Content ID claim by "Starmedia Distribution Sdn Bhd"? (I have not get a single cent from that video yet and it has nearly 2m views, estimated at $500+ for now)
3) How long do it take for YouTube to process the dispute?
4) Is it easy to win against such dispute and what advice would you give if you went through similar dispute before?
I am currently partnered with YouTube. (automated)Thank you for your time and any advice given! (It is hard to find a place with lots of YouTube experts so I chose to post on this forum)
