how does fullscreen benefit a small channel

I Love YTtalk
i keep hearing about networks wont promote small channels, but they give tools to help them get traffic... i am curious what these tools are and how beneficial they are.

i have musician friends who let me use their music, so the royalty free music part is useless to me. so what are these other tools that supposedly help get traffic through small channels?

yeah but i had a bunch of loaded questions in there so was just seeing now that its more specific if i could get more/new answers

Everyone always says "networks don't promote you but give you tools" but personally I never liked this response because the "tools" networks provide don't really help, you're still on your own.

Here are some of Fullscreen's tools:
- Dashboard (ok I don't know if this really counts as a tool but they have one where you see your earnings)
- Royalty-free music/sounds - you won't use this but they have good ones. However if you ever plan on leaving Fullscreen, don't use it or you will have to delete your videos containing these (unless you purchase the licenses from audiomicro, which are quite expensive)
- Fullscreen forums- used to be full of spam and somewhat inactive, but I don't really know anymore I never go there, you could still probably get some subs there
- Gorilla campaigns - advertise stuff in the beginning of your videos to get high cpm, but only lasts couple of days and your "ad" stays in your video forever and can't monetize for 30 days after campaign ends (must have face in it so bad for gamers)
- Bulk annotations- I never use this
- Link shortener- useless..
- Playbook - can be useful for new channels but can find the same information elsewhere
- Click-bomb protection - good but all networks provide this and click-bombing is rare
- Good support - this actually is very good but if you don't ask much questions like me, it is rarely used
- Possibly better search results if partnered - i think
- Uploading to hub channels can help you get some exposure

ah gotcha, so yeah nothing too special i see. except that click bombing, that could come handy if youre like a medium sized youtube channel. thanks a lot, that really helps me make my desicion to not be in any rush or motivation to sign with one :)

I feel that, they help you by giving you tools that will make your videos more appealing! That giving you better quality videos and good video quality attracts more people! Hopefully this kind of helped out!

Their tools don't give you "better quality videos".. you have to do that yourself.

yeah, just kinda seems kinda dumb imo for small channels. only positive thing that it sounds like is that click bombing protection, no offense to small channels with fullscreen, but just kinda seems like they do it just so they can be like, "yeah i got a partnership"

This is the way i see it, Big youtubers didnt get big by having networks advertise them, they did it alone and now that they are big they get help just because. I do agree with you that sometimes small channels dont benifit much from a partnership but its all about how you sell yourself, if you get your network to notice you and constantly talk to them..they will know who you are and most likely help you here and there.. Fullscreen has tweeted my videos multiple times, shouted me out through twitter and facebook and are even willing to let you go to their office to get a tour (which again will let them know who you are)

Afterall a partnership is what it is...a partnership and if a small channel is not willing to put it the work and effort then why should the network you know?

right i feel ya, like im sure theres still some benefit if you bug them and stuff and if you put out amazing content that would get big if given the chance, but i mean, i just dont see it happening because i feel they just judge you by your subscriber count as opposed to your content.
