How do you get product placement offers?

Product placement is when a company pays you to show their product in your video.
I'm wondering how people get these offers because I think that it would be awesome if I could make some cash by featuring products
 
Have a lot of views on your channel. Or get in touch with less known companies and they'll get you to showcase anything. You wont get paid though.

For a while we got free t-shirts from The Mountain.com but we haven't asked for any new ones in a while.

I guess you didnt get to se the last part I edited in.

Start with smaller less known companies. Do that good and bigger ones might contact you. There is no reason for a big company, let's say Nike to let you show their product for 50 people when there are people who can show it to 500 000 people.

I can only draw parallels to what I do. I've gotten a lot of requests from small game developers to show their game. But I've never gotten a review copy from one of the big game developers. It works in the opposite way as well. The more known YouTubers wont show stuff from someone whos less known and a not so good product. They want the big stuff and thats how the hierachy works. Thats why we're left with the rejects and sometimes it will blow up to your advantage.

When you have a small or no marketing budget at all most companies or people will let you show their product. They'll see it as free marketing and 50 more people is watching it than before.
 
I agree with Playinthehard. You're not going to get paid by Coca Cola for your video. If anything, if they ever find out and they didn't give permission they might sue! Unless of course you're too small to even notice. Try smaller companies first, and go to them. They won't come to you.

As Thrashbat said. They will most likely not come after you. You will have to contact them in the beginning.

I don't know what kind of product placement you want to do. But look around on Kickstarter and you'll find some who probably will let you show their product.
 
Lol no, you have 50 subs. You need to be a big channel and then people will contact you and make you offers. Hey wanna review our new headset? Ehhhh. We'll give you 100 bucks. Sure!
