How do you earn through Youtube?

I Love YTtalk
I have just yet started with my channel and I am not even thinking of making money right now because I know that I am not eligible and even if I was even then it wouldn't be possible because I have too less views
But anyways my question what is earning money through youtube?
I know you engage your videos with ads and then when viewers click you get money which depends on CTR
When can you start earning??
and how much earning is possible with the minimum requirements fulfilled>>>??

1000 views will generate anywhere between $1-$2 ...so as u can see it takes alot of views and an amount of time .......try to think of youtube as a traffic source to another website ie your own and you'll most probably make more from a target keyword optimised site
