Other How do you do dual commentaries on Xbox Live?

I've done a fair few videos on my channel now where I mostly play Battlefield 3 with some friends. I would like to expand that with playing BF3 or other games with other YouTube creators. Hopefully this will boost both channels subs count.

So if anyone feels lucky, (sort of) like my content on YouTube and want to do some dual comms, please go ahead and give me a shout.

My other question is: How do you do it in a practical way?
I play on Xbox 360 and tried a couple of ways.
  1. Used a splitter from my Xbox controller to my PC and record voice audio that way.
Works, but my mic audio level is cut in half so the rest of the party had problems hearing me. Also introduced some static in the audio.
  2. Play party voice through speakers and headset, so I can record the rest of the party with the game audio. I then record my voice through a separate mic and join that together in the editing.
Works, but need to get game- and chat audio levels correct. Also have problems with audio getting out of sync during longer sessions.
So I'm thinking using Skype or something like that for chat and then record game audio only from the Xbox. With my headset I can listen to game audio and PC audio at the same time, and also have the mic connected to the PC. Then you just have to sync it to the game audio, but since the chat might be about completely other topics, it wouldn't be that hard.

What do you other people use?

Hey there, I think I can help you out on this one.

We record group sessions on PSN over skype, with our main video editor using his HDPVR to record the game and fraps/audacity of Skype for the commentary. They get spliced later.

In game voice chat is not reliable in my own expierences. Sounds impractical to try and get working but I dont know what your better with.

Thanks! That sounds like what I tried to say there at the end.

Now I just need to find the right channels to hook up with.

Skype is mostly used and its now the best thing you can use to record the audio ;) I recommend u to use that :D

I have a program called SkypeCallRecorder that does it automatically, so I think that's the way I will try to do it.

Hey dude i play BF3 o xbox too and also make commentaries and such. Maybe we could play together and make a video. And to record party chat go to preferences then voice and select play through both. To get you voice you'll have to record it on your pc with a mic using a program like Audacity( which is free). That's the method most people use for xbox 360 because skype voice call recordings don't always sound good.
