Hit 4k subs today on my 1 year YouTube anniversary!

Posting Mad!
So a few of you may have seen some of my early posts. When I first signed up to YTTalk in December 2015 I had like 50 subs or less. My channel was just under a month old, and I really was clueless on what I was doing.

I set myself a goal to reach 1000 subscribers by my 24th birthday in August, and 1.5k subs by the time my channel was a year old.

Today my channel is 1 year old, and I just hit 4k subs. So I reached more than double my goal.

Part of why I'm making this post though isn't just because I'm happy at how far I've come. Part of it is that I want to show others who've just started on the journey that if you're patient, growth will come.

Here's a graph of my views since I started the channel. As you can see, it's been a steady crawl up until recently when my views spiked quite a bit. I started off with only a handful of views per day that came from people I manually linked my videos to, and my record is 22k views in one day just a few days ago.

Perhaps the coolest part about it all is where those views came from. Most of my views are on a handful of my videos. More than half of all the views my channel has, are from one video.

Which video is that? It's the first video I ever posted, exactly a year ago today.

Here's a comparison of that video's views to my total channel views:

Very very happy with how far things have come, and I'm really looking forward to 2017. I intend to reach at least 10,000 subscribers by my 25th birthday in August 2016, but hopefully I'll be even further along than that ^^

So yeah, for those of you who've just started, and feel like your channel isn't taking off. Just keep producing quality content. Learn SEO and how to rank your videos in search. Build it, and they will come!

WOW, I would be so happy to get half of it when I hit my one year mark. Way to go man. Good luck and continue doing what you are doing.

Congrats. Happy anniversary and good job. I hope you can pass on info to newer folks and they learn from it.
