Got a partnership offer. Need some advice! :)

Hey,

Well today I received an e-mail from a network called AvokMedia and they are offering me partnership. I was wondering, does anyone know about them or is partnered with them?

I looked at their site, but it's the usual stuff. They say they are the best in their business, this and that, but marketing is marketing. As far as I know, they could be just the opposite so that is why I wish to know has anyone ever heard anything about them or knows someone who is partnered with them so that I can get some tips on whatever I should join or not. ^^

It appears to be a small network with only around 100 and something subscribers. I know there are many new networks today, some grow eventually, but some just fall into an abyss so I have to be careful. My ultimate goal would be to join a bigger gaming network, maybe Machinima or Yeousch. I want to be in a network that I know has some "stability" and won't crumble one day...at least soon lol.

I know Machinima has some great partners and directors that I follow daily for Battlefield and some other games so that' why, but I heard some bad stuff about them although they are just rumors with no hard fact.
Anyways, I just wish to know, has anyone heard of these guys before and what advice can you offer me right now?

What id do is check around see what ur options are and check out ur contract and if its a lock in and you dont know much about them i wouldnt go with them jsut my opinion

Hm so if I apply, I will first get a contract that I can accept/reject? If that's the case, I might do that, but I will wait until I see if anyone here knows a few more things about these guys and can offer me some tips or experience even.

Thanks for the quick reply Elmos.

I've never heard of them, but defiantly do your research and read the contract carefully before joining

You're tempted to go with Machinima eventually is the biggest thing I picked up from this. Just do a search on these very forums for a few reasons as to why not to bother; I can name poor CPM and long lock-ins on contracts as just two reasons why not to bother. And do you really want to be a part of one of the biggest networks when you're looking for a smaller one?

Well I looked at some of the threads here and saw some negative parts of Machinima indeed, but you should know that when it comes to money with ANY network, I don't care about how much money I earn. I just wish to get a partnership in hopes of maybe getting more views and one day even earn a Director channel (long way from that dream lol). I do not yet know about these long lock-ins, but I will do my research on every network that I would like to partner with. Machinima or Yeuosch are my top 2 now, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't want to partner with another network if I found out they are better.

Well since no one had ever heard of them, I would be tempted not to go there.

If you are in no rush to get partnered, maybe try Fullscreen if you can get accepted. They are pretty lax on the numbers these days, hell, I just got in there, and at least they are well known so you have a knowledge base to draw on to get the most out of them. Just be carefull not to blindly accept the pages on the websites because you could inadvertantly accept a contract by mistake :)

Hope it works out for ya bud !
