Global or multiple youtube channels

Hi All,

For a person/channel that has interest in many subjects, what would be more efficient: creating a youtube channel for each subject or put all videos in one global channel and organize them with playlists?

What would be the impact on viewers and their interests to subscribe to that (global) channel ?
Are here any users who are in the same case?

Thank you all for you suggestions.

I think this really depends on what your different interests are. For example, travel vlogging can be quite easily be combined with beauty, lifestyle or opinion videos, or even comedy sketches, if that is the overall direction of your channel. However, if you want to do very different things, like animation storytimes and tech reviews, you might want to start two channels.

If you are starting out id say throw them into one channel for the first year.
See what sticks / what you enjoy etc and maybe break away down the line.
If you start several channels from day 1 it will become overwhelming and you will most likely quit (Like 99% of channels).

I have a lot of topics I cover in my channel, and haven’t 100% niched down yet. I call everything I post BigKid stuff, so that means photography, shooting, BBQ, family Vlogs and reviews.
All in their own playlists, and thumbnail templates help categorize the videos.
However a have a few YouTube compadres that are 100% niched down into shooting videos, and seem to be growing faster than me.
I’ve been tempted to divide into multiple channels, but I want to grow my MrBigKid brand, so I’ll stick with one until I have a few million subs ;)

Well, that makes sense. Also, If many persons are behind the same channels that would be more easier to maintain.[DOUBLEPOST=1547827373,1547797075][/DOUBLEPOST]

It's the same for me. I have a lot of topics that I'd like to share with the rest of the word, I am even thinking about adding a gaming section.
However, I read somewhere (on YB docs I believe) that they suggest to have a specialized channel instead of a global one...

Concentrating on a niche will increase your chances of growing a channel and retaining an audience. But like anything else on YouTube there are exceptions, that's the beauty of it, there isn't a model that fits everybody. Some channels blow up just because of somebody's personality, independently of what topics they post about. In my mind you do what makes you happy but I can say as somebody that's starting off, it is easier to manage one channel to start with.

If a person is passionate about many subjects, he/she would share them (in one place) with other persons who might have vision similarities and close interests.
I think we tend to be interested in channels which have same interests and thoughts.

I got your point. Additionally, It could be hard to tell why a viewer subscribed to a channel if it has many subjects like the case with my channel for the moment. YB analytics could give some hints though.

While it might be hard to see why someone subbed to your channel, you could probably make a guess based on when they did so according to which video/s were uploaded shortly before. I guess things such as video likes and views might help you see what people like in particular.
