Getting Returning Visitors

How do you go about getting returning visitors on YouTube? Do you solely rely on that they have subscribed to your channel and hope they will watch your videos and visit your channel often? Do you use any methods to engage with them such as keeping in touch with them or writing comments on their channel and videos or perhaps sending them messages now and then? How do you go about keeping people coming back for more?

This is something I am interested in learning about in more depth and I look forward to your responses

I keep commenting on videos and channels and subscribing to the ones i like and i sometimes send them messages reminding them of my channel and ask them questions
