Hello there, people of YtTalk!
I make Let's Plays on Youtube and I recently read that that if you want to monetize gameplay footage that you don't have the express permission to monetize, you need to be in a Network to do so.
So I read some info on the web and applied for TGN, but then I saw some shady things about them and decided that I can't trust them with my channel. I then applied for TGS but I highly doubt they will accept me, it's more of a case of "try just in case it actually happens".
After some more research and reading on this forum, I am found hesitating between either RPM or Fullscreen.
So far, from what I can understand:
RPM:
- Has great support
- Accepts nearly every channel as long as they have 2500+ views per month
- Is a division of Maker Studios, a big, stable network.
- 60/40 cut, pretty standard.
- Is not a gaming-only network, so I don't even know if they can allow me to monetize gameplay footage in the first place. (Although Maker Studios also owns TGS so maybe they do have licenses?)
- Has a 1-year lock-in, which really isn't bad in my opinion.
- Network for beginners who wants to build up and achieve higher goals.
Fullscreen:
- Around 750-1000 views per day requirement (from what I've read, not many sources found)
- Has very good cut (I think 70/30, although I'm not too sure)
- Very liked by a lot of people
- 2-years lock-in, which isn't too good for me personally, but I'll take it if RPM really isn't good.
- Has Yeousch as a division to the network, which most likely has licenses for monetizing gameplay footage, but weirdly enough, has higher requirements than the main network (seriously, what?).
So yeah, that's the situation for me... can anyone help me figure out this situation and tell me which is is better or even suggest me another good network for let's plays?
(I have around 1000-1500 views per day and 460+ subscribers so if you needed the stats for network suggestions, there you go! )
Thank you and I look forward to read your replies!
