So I've been accepted onto Fullscreen which is really exciting to me. I had a few questions and have been emailing back and forth with someone from Fullscreen. My last question is taking a little while to answer and I'm anxious to sign so maybe you guys can answer it for me instead!

Once I sign on with them, how do I know which games that I make videos with are able to be monetized with Fullscreen? By this I mean, how do I know which games they have rights to use and which they don't?

They don`t have any gaming licenses, upload games at your own risk ;)

They request that you play games that don't have cinematic cut scenes as that is how most of these new games are caught with 3rd party matches. It's getting harder and harder to do LP's with new games. That's why at Fullscreen Arcade they recommend you play retro games. I have 137 videos up with my gaming channel that is under FS Arcade and not a single 3rd party match or copyright strike.

Any idea what is the main reason its harder to do them - is it because a lot of people doing letsplay with new games and in that big amount of videos some parts dublicates on many videos and gives problems with content ID / third party match thing, or its because new games are more copyrighted?
Thanks!

It's because video game companies are starting to claim their game footage on YouTube.

But lets say if i create game video (old game) and i claim this lets play video for the network im in in order to monetize it (as we can't monetize without claiming it) - can it make a conflict for others too if someone in future create lets play video on that same game? as long as its already claimed by me or someone else etc. who already played and claimed that game and recorded lets play video being first one who recorded it?

Or its some kind of different claiming way that game companies do?

Just trying to figure out how that damn thing works to avoid possible future problems...

Video game companies are claiming their game footage, which leads to third party matches and copyright strikes if someone uploads a video containing that game footage. People's LP videos don't conflict with other people's LP videos, they can only "conflict" with the game company.

As to OP's question, here is a response from Creator X on their forum (which should be the same for all of Fullscreen I would guess). But it is very vague.

As for your questions pertaining to gaming:Gaming videos *with commentary* and without other rights issues (music, cut-scenes, or company policy) are usually okay
We advise against monetizing *any* Microsoft games due to their usage policy.

Ultimately it comes down to the game license or company policy. (per YouTube)

Hope this info helps!
Whether partnered or not, you still have to research the gaming company's policy and how it pertains to posting videos and monetization.

Some companies have a very open policy & some do not.
It is up to you to do the research.

Use the links in our above post and Google Search for the rest.

There were links in that quote but I had to remove it because can't post links on this forum.

There's a gaming channel that uploads new games like God of War game and he did not even have commentaries and he included all the cutscenes and he is with Fullscreen in his social blade stats. He got lots of subscribers 330k and and many views a day, and his ads are unskippable. He's awesome. he is a god lol

The bigger channels get direct permission usually or he is part of a network that has the proper licenses.

The general consensus for gaming videos is to make sure that you show little to no cinematic scenes from a game and that your gameplay must have commentary over it. Thanks!
