Free software (OS X) for creating nice thumbnails?

Hello

I'm looking some software to create custom thumbnails, i know i could use PS but i don't have it. And to be honest i would prefer a free one for the OS X, it should not be too complex just as simple as it can be :)

Any advise?
 
Three Options:
  1. Gimp.
  2. Paint.net
  3. Picmonkey.com
Picmonkey is probably the easiest to use.

I'd definitely recommend PicMonkey, Gimp has a steep learning curve if you want to produce good quality things, same with paint.net but PicMonkey I swear by!
 
I tried GIMP yeah it seems to be a bit complected for just making the thumbnails ....

Paint.net it exists for OS X? couldn't find ...

PicMonkey.com it is just a website it is not software yeah?
