I noticed that when I put my featured content at the beginning of the video rather than the end, I get more hits on it. I usually place it after my 10 second intro.

I've always thought about how doing this would affect viewers. So far I've only done it in 1 or 2 of my videos so i can't really tell either way, did it help did it not. Most bigger youtubers do it though, so there must be something in this technique that works.

Will it affect audience retention time of I put it in the beginning? It shouldn't right? Cuz I'm not asking for the viewer to leave youtube.

I put mine at the 30 second mark just incase I've lost them by then and then they can click on something else. Attention spans are diminishing nowadays so we gotta do what we can!
