Does creating a Facebook and twitter page for ur youtube channel work?

If you have followers/friends it could help you gain subscribers, I just promote my videos on FB and Twitter,
Talk to people (make friends, then they'll subscribe!)
 
Of course it does. Facebook and twitter are great social platforms for promoting anything not just videos. Make sure it is of good enough quality, and you might get people to share your video.
