Do you have a niche or do you make creative content for yourself?

I've Got It
So I wanted to ask what is the communities thought on having a niche is it really worth it, or do you make videos that you find enjoyable? Cause I've been hearing a ton of people saying you need a niche but I'm just curious.

Having a niche is mostly more effective. For branding purposes and subscribers coming back knowing what they can expect from the videos.

I think everyone will be somewhere on a curve with ''X = optimal'' ''Y = Enjoyable''.

For some people X doesn't matter at all, they only make videos for fun.

I am somewhere in the middle, if I would have to guess. I am willing to branch out within a big niche that is ''travel''. If it seems like a good project to me.

Is is worth it? You tell me. ;)

Do the two things have to be exclusive? If you enjoy a niche, make content for that. With the right quality and promotion, you'll build an audience.

I have a niche but it is content that I enjoy. I do Apex Legends tutorials and challenges and I enjoy watching these and getting motivation and inspiration from other content creators around that niche.

I think finding a niche doesn't have to be restrictive and can be very satisfying. I mostly have video reviews or game footage, so not very original, but the original content I do produce is VERY niche - football kit design for Animal Crossing. The compilation videos will never get big numbers, but I enjoy making the designs and sharing with other people. I've even had people request tribute shirts with the names of lost family/friends to use in-game. Those are quite heart-warming when I hear the stories behind the shirt.

I've started a channel LandyVlad Rides for motorcycle content and will put the rest of anything I do on another channel LandyVlad.
Will be interesting to see over time how the two compare.
