CPM vs RPV

Your question lacks the information required to make a proper answer. All you asked was which acronym was better.

Assuming you mean RPM, RPM I would say is better, in that having a 5$ RPM is better than a 5$ CPM, as RPM is what you actually make, after cuts and whatnot

RPV is revenue per view, a very pointless number as it will be so small ($.003 RPV = $3 RPM)

RPM is 1000x RPV and a much more common number.

So your question should be

"RPM or CPM - which is better?"

The answer to that is:
RPM is the more technically correct term, however YouTube/channels/networks are stuck on using the term CPM. They are equal for all intents and purposes and used interchangeably.

What is RPV used for then? You only get paid for views where ads appear, and you get paid more for when people click the ads. So, what is RPV? Sorry, haha, I have never heard of this before. :O

(You kind of already answered my question, but do you think you could clarify a bit more? :))

RPV = Revenue per View
RPM = Revenue per 1000 Views

So
RPM = RPV * 1000
and
RPM / 1000 = RPV
