So i was thinking to start doing gaming news in my channel. Like 3-4 times in weeks short episodes where i tell gaming news.
So let's think i am telling news about new game. Can i use short parts of that new game trailer/gameplay in my videos? Ofc i am talking all the time in my videos so how is it?
Can i use those trailers/gameplays in those videos? I've seen couple channels doing those, but i dont know do they have somekinf of permission for those or something

It may qualify as fair usage but I'm not 100% sure

Well i was thinking same. If i dont use whole trailer. I think i just need to cut it and maybe take audio off or something.

Taking Audio off will definitely help, I'm not really qualified to answer the question but my first instinct was that without audio it would be okay under fair use law.

Aren't you partnered with RPM OP? If so then it shouldn't be a problem? Because being with them gives you those kind of benefits to use gaming content?

I'm not partnered myself so i'm not sure if what i'm saying is entirely correct...

No, Networks are still operating under fair use.

Generally you can't monetize
  • in game music
  • in game cut scenes
The problem with trailers is that they can be really easily searched via content-ID because they are exactly the same video. Shortening/editing down doesn't help.

TL;DR: You could, but I wouldn't.
