Hello I have question..
Can I compress video like 2gb into something like 200mb or 500mb??
Will my video lose quality? or resolution??

Since my internet provider is giving me only 50gb per month I cant be uploading videos 2-3gb every day I would lose my net very fast :D

Oh bro thats easy, I render my videos in MAGIX MOVIE EDIT PRO, it turns out like 1-5 gb for 5 minutes video!
Then I import that video into Movie maker, it renders it into 500-600 MB, QUALITY is NOT EFFECTED :D

I was thinking of something like that.. compressing video is nothing other than using same pixels twice or more times.. For example having a green background behind you and recording vlog with camera, camera cant compress but using some sftware to render then software is going to notice that that greenbackground can be applied multiple times on different frames so not to have all those pixels stored in video software is going to keep only one copy of the pixels that do not change during filming and will aplly them in video playback as needed.. But compressing videos like this will affect video performance on weaker devices because the more you compress it the more work cpu of pc has to do by applying those same pixels that dont change.. Its tough for cpu to manupilate that one pixel on different places on screen when needed.. so compressing=less performance on pc but when uploaded on youtube this problem is handled by youtube I guess..
Now what I am wondering are there any softwares which can compress more than moviemaker? because moviemaker is simple program designed not to affect performance/size of the video.. :)

I personally use MPEG Streamclip to convert my animations. they go from 5 gig (for a couple of minutes) down to 1GB and under which is great for me. There is very very slight drop in colour intensity, but the quality is fine in my opinion. (I convert to MP4 with quality set on full)

also the program is free, so you can always try it out :)

It entirely depends on the content and resolution of the videos. Some things need more data than others to be represented in good quality. For instance, games with a first-person viewpoint need a higher bit-rate, because almost all the pixels on the screen are changing almost constantly. It's pretty much more movement = more data required.

Well its not that I upload the video, and youtube handles the quality of that video, whenever i compress through movie maker, I figure out, no pixels were harmed... so that is my preference :D

My videos fresh from Sony Vegas Pro is always under 1 GB even though they are 15-20 minutes of gameplay, I use WMV. Compressing your files definitely reduces your quality of video so remember not to compress too much.
